TEREX HYPOWER HYBRID SYSTEM AVAILABLE FOR TRUCK, AERIAL DEVICES & DERRICKS
The Terex HyPower Hybrid System—available on the complete line of Terex utility work trucks, including aerial devices and digger derricks—is designed to save fuel, reduce noise and increase efficiency, says the company.
The system uses a plug-in hybrid PTO, which uses stored energy from rechargeable batteries to power the non-propulsion functions of the vehicle.
The system, says Terex, is designed to reduce, or eliminate, the use of fuel for work done while the vehicle is stationary. According to Terex, operating in the hybrid mode causes no reduction in performance of the controls. The system recharges from the electrical grid using a standard 110V/15 AMP outlet. The system can be retrofitted onto existing vehicles and can be transferred from a vehicle leaving service to a new vehicle, says Terex.
