Looking for construction job? This website’s for you
The Northern Nevada construction industry is reaching out to prospective employees with a new website designed to be a one-stop destination for information.
The Nevada Construction Collaborative and the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada have launched www.BuildNV.org to provide guidance for students, military and all job-seekers interested in construction work in the region.
Officials said it’s a way to get ahead of the region’s fast-growing need for construction workers as reflected in projections for tens of thousands of new jobs in the next five years with major employers, notably Tesla, Apple and Switch, setting up operations in the greater Reno-Sparks area.
“The only way we can address this unprecedented projected growth is by innovative industry initiatives like this,” Mike Kazmierski, CEO of EDAWN, said in a news release on Wednesday.
The Nevada Construction Collaborative includes the Nevada Builders Alliance, Associated Builders and Contractors, The Builders Association of Northern Nevada, and the Nevada chapter of the Associated General Contractors of America.
In the news release, Aaron West, CEO of the Nevada Builders Alliance, said of the new website, “This portal provides us the opportunity to educate potential workforce across the country about the tremendous opportunities, economic advantages and abundant resources available in this great region.”
