Construction on Austin’s $300 million ‘Jenga Tower’ will begin in January
Contractors in Austin will begin building the $300-million condo building that resembles a Jenga tower in January, according to media reports.
Constructive Venture Inc. and Aspen Heights are coordinating together on the massive project, The Independent, which will feature 370 units, ranging from 675 to 3,485 square feet, spanning 58 stories. The lot that the building will reside was secured for $14.5 million, according to KVUE.
The 950,000-square-foot project will be located at the northwest corner of 3rd Street and West Avenue.
The building will include an assortment of cool amenities, including a yoga studio, fitness facility, dog owner’s lounge, children’s play areas and a pool with a glass edge that extends over the building, according to Construction Dive.
“This project is slated to make history in so many ways,” said Kevin Burns, broker and CEO of Urbanspace. “From the building’s positioning in the new center of downtown, to its design, floorplans, breathtaking views, amenities, and ground floor community experience, there’s a real potential to leave a lasting legacy with our city – and potential buyers recognize that. The Independent will elevate Austin to a new level of residential offerings, and to me, it’s a great pre-cursor of what’s to come.”
