The Series III 844K wheel loader includes an aggregate handler configuration. It has a 380-horsepower John Deere PowerTech Tier 4-Final diesel engine, and standard five-speed transmission with torque-converter lockup in gears two through five. Bucket capacity is 7.25 cubic yards with breakout force of 47,302 pounds.

The aggregate handler package is purpose-built for two-pass loading with larger material-handling buckets from 9.3 to 9.8 cubic yards. The unit has larger tilt cylinders, higher hydraulic pressure, and increased counterweighting.
